That’s definitely the best step to start learning French!
Now, it’s time to learn how to introduce yourself and how to start a conversation in French in 3 steps:
It’s worth learning a few basic French phrases that you’ll be able to use in everyday conversation. I’m a native French speaker so I recorded my voice for each word. Listen and repeat after me. That’s it.
Let’s get started learning how to speak easy French now!
1. Introduce yourself
Comment tu t’appelles? (What’s your name?)
Je m’appelle… (My name is…)
Comment ça va (How are you)
Ça va (I’m fine)
D’où viens-tu? (Where do you come from?)
Je viens de… (I come from…)
2. Asking Someone for Information
Tu es marié(e)? (Are you married?)
Tu as des enfants? (Do you have children?)
Quel âge as-tu? (How old are you?)
Tu habites où? (Where do you live?)
3. Encourage people to go out with you
Ça te dirait de sortir? (Do you feel like going out?)
On va boire un verre? (Do you fancy a drink?)
On va au restaurant? (What about a restaurant?)
It’s always useful to have Audio lessons online. Use them! You can have a look at a few French words translated in English every now and then to practice your pronunciation skills by listening and repeating.
Learning has to be fun. Find a way to learn French the fun way. If you like crosswords, complete one per day. You can also practice with your own printable flashcards if you feel more comfortable that way… And you can print some vocabulary flash cards from this site too.
You can also try to use a software to learn French phrases and vocabulary. A good French learning software has audio clips with native pronunciation, lots of pictures, games and is well-organized.
Anyway, find your way, it just makes the learning easier!
