Is Younger really Better?
Children learn French easily if they learn at an early age.
The best time to teach your children a second language is the same time they are learning their first one.
Learning a language at any age is beneficial.
Some studies have shown that children who learn a foreign language before the adolescence are more likely to develop native-like pronunciation because the human brain is more open to linguistic development during the years between birth and pre-adolescence (e.g., Strozer, 1994).
Children will then carry their language learning experience through their entire education as that helps them to develop problem-solving skills and to experience a real sense of achievement.
Have you ever noticed that…
When children have an early start in language learning that continues through college and high school, these kids are then able to achieve the highest levels of fluency?
And that such a high level of fluency is simply not possible to achieve for children who had a late start in foreign language learning?
According to François Thibaut, director of the Language Workshop for ‘Children Learn French Easy’ in New York City:
The ability to hear different phonetic pronunciations is sharpest before age three, and we lose the capacity to hear and produce certain sounds if we aren’t exposed to them early on
So just hearing a television show, listening to music, or learning a few words in a second language will give your child essential tools for appreciating it now and learning to speak it later.
